PE Funding
Sports Funding
The government is providing additional funding of £150 million per annum to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – has been allocated to primary school head teachers.

This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools. Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but schools have been given the freedom to choose how they do this.
At Frizington Primary we have decided to use the funding this year to:
-
Provide in school Gymnastics coaching for all year groups. This has been in the form of 6 week blocks. 2 classes per year work towards the Key Steps event.
-
Allow all children to access our Forest School;
-
Purchase new equipment for PE and also to enable active lunch times;
-
Pay for transport to enable children to take part in sports competitions;
-
Staff training;
-
Provide after-school clubs either free or subsidised by our PE funding.
