Homework
Strive For Five
We ask that children read at home at least 5 times over the week. If your child is still on level books, they will bring home a few each week. Your child will be prompted to change their book on their designated day. Please make sure books are returned regularly to enable this. If your child is a free reader, we would encourage them to be reading for at least 20 minutes. Your child will be entered into the reading raffle if they strive for 5 and return their reading record each Monday.
As we know, practice of basic skills is very important and where homework can be most beneficial. Following questionnaires, we have evaluated our current practice and are excited to share our new learning platform.
Children will complete 2 weekly tasks: one Maths focus and one English focus. They will also be able to explore the wide range of games, quizzes and activities once they have completed these tasks. This homework will be set each Monday and will be checked the following Monday.
Homework expectations in Year 3/4
If your child does not complete their Strive for 5 or EdShed learning they will be required to complete it during school time. This is to get them used to the expectations in Secondary School.
Additional Learning activities
If you would like your child to complete more activities through the week to complement their learning, they can also access letterjoin.co.uk and ttrockstars.co.uk both of which the children have been provided login details for. For further information on both of these please see the English and Maths curriculum areas of our website.
