Important information for Parents4 November 2020 (by admin) |
Good Morning All
Due to the increase in the Covid rate of infection and the consequent lockdown which begins tomorrow, we are asking parents to adhere to the following new measures and a reminder of existing measures which are not being consistently followed.
New Measures from tomorrow 05/11/20:
- Only 1 parent/carer may come on to the School grounds to collect;
- If the parent cannot collect, children can only be collected by an adult who is part of your childcare bubble. This can only be between 2 consistent households (see below for further details);
- Where possible, younger siblings should remain at home.
- Parents should not enter the School building unless by prior arrangement or in case of an emergency. If this is the case, you will need to wear a mask. Any messages should be via jotter, email or telephone. Correct monies must be sent in in an envelope (with the child) and handed to the child’s class teacher. We have been allowing parents to drop off forgotten items, however unless this is medication, we will no longer do so and will manage the situation.
Reminder of Existing Measures:
- Walk to School if you can;
- Please follow the one-way system;
- Please do not arrive at school early for drop offs or collections;
- For drop off and collection at the front of the School (Y3/4 am and Y4 pm) parents and children should wait inside the wall to enable the path to be clear;
- For collection, Y4 should wait until Y1/2 have been collected before they enter the playground – again please do not arrive early as it causes congestion on the path;
- Once you have collected your child (unless you are waiting for a sibling) you must leave the site immediately;
- Children who are waiting for sibling(s) must remain with their parents in the designated collection area;
- School equipment should not be used on the playground;
- Children should only use School’s hand sanitizer.
Childcare Bubbles:
“What is a childcare bubble?
According to the government: "A childcare bubble is where someone in one household provides informal (unpaid and unregistered) childcare to a child aged 13 or under in another household."
This might be a relative or a close friend and parents can only form one childcare bubble. In other words, the bubble must always be between the same two households.
This means that, if you enlist the help of grandparents, it must be the same set of grandparents who cares for your child each time.
The rule has been brought in to support parents who might not be able to find adequate childcare within their household during lockdown.”
Thank you all for your continued support in keeping our community safe
