Delayed Reopening of School3 January 2021 (by admin) |
Good Evening and Happy New Year
As I am sure you are aware there has been lots of information and debate regarding the reopening of Primary Schools. This morning Cumbria County Council wrote to the Department for Education requesting that Cumbrian Primary Schools do not open and that learning is accessed remotely whilst the cases in the county are increasing at such a rapid rate - this has been rejected.
I understand how worried that you all must be as parents and we need to ensure that we are doing everything that we possibly can to keep our School community safe. Our staff are currently being advised not to return to work by their unions in the current situation. The situation is changing rapidly and unprecedently and to allow us time to consider this and the varying implications, School will not be reopening on Tuesday 5th January and all children will need to access their learning remotely.
I appreciate that this is short notice for parents however, I feel that this is necessary when I am entrusted with the Health, Safety and Well-Being of staff, pupils and their families.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused and I will update you tomorrow afternoon on the School’s position for reopening and hope that you understand the actions that we are having to take. Any issues/questions, please contact me on headteacher@frizington-pri.cumbria.sch.uk
Kindest Regards
Sarah Rose
