Dear Parent / Carer

Here are a few reminders about dates/events coming up for the rest of this term:

• Year 5/6 Open Afternoon – Thursday 21^st March:
  We look forward to seeing Year 5/6 parents at tomorrow’s Open Afternoon from 2.30 pm (one parent per child please and no siblings).
  
  
• Year 3 / 4 U-Dance – Friday 22^nd March 2024:
  Miss Ellwood sent a Jotter message out yesterday afternoon with all of the final arrangements.  Good luck Year 3 / 4’s – you will be amazing!
  
  
• WLA Football Tournament – Friday 22^nd March 2024:
  Some of our Year 5/6 children are attending the West Lakes Academy Football tournament this Friday morning (leaving School at 9.15 am and returning for lunch time).  Unfortunately, we haven’t had a parent volunteer come forward yet – unless we get a parent helper to join the children, unfortunately the event will have to be cancelled.  If you are able to help, please can you let the School Office know by first thing morning.
  
  
• Easter Service at St Paul’s Church on Monday 25^th March 2024:
  We only have one parent who has offered to walk down to Church with us on Monday.  We will need several more adults to accompany us to Church to make the visit possible please.  We will be leaving School at 10.30 am and returning in time for lunch.  If you are able to help, please can you let the School office know asap.
  
  
• Year 3 / 4 Open Afternoon – Monday 25^th March 2024 at 2.45 pm:
  Only one parent per child please (no siblings).
  
  
• Easter Athletics:
  We will be holding our Easter Athletics event on Tuesday 26th March so children will need to ensure their PE kit is in School (as it should be for the whole week) please plus their water bottle.
• Easter Raffle:
  Just a reminder that all raffle tickets need to be returned to School with money by the morning of Thursday 28^th March please.  Spare tickets are available from the School Office.  As usual, we would gratefully appreciate any donations of Easter Eggs for prizes please.
  
  
• Decorated Egg Competition:
  Children (and adults!) need to bring their decorated eggs into School on the morning of Thursday 28^th March (no names) and placed on the year group tables please.
  
  
• End of Term finishing time:
  As previously stated in the newsletter, we will finish at usual home-time on Thursday 28^th March.  The Den and after school clubs will continue as usual on that day.
  
  
• Meal Price increase wef 01/04/24:
  We have been informed by Orian that they will be increasing the price of children’s lunches with effect from 01/04/2024  to £3.16.  We have tried to negotiate the price with Orian but unfortunately they feel that there is no room for flexibility on the meal price due to the rise in the National Living Wage and the constant pressure on food inflation.   We will continue to support parents wherever we possibly can but unfortunately, in this instance, it has not made any difference to the price for parents.
  
  
• Return to School after Easter: 
  Children return to School on Tuesday 16^th April after the Easter holidays – it is our staff INSET training day on Monday 15^th April.
