Dear Parent / Carer

Here are a few important notices and reminders:

• Tonight - Thursday 27^th June at 3.30 pm: Just a reminder that West Lakes Academy are holding a parents’ surgery for any queries that Year 6 parents may have.
  
  
• Nut Free School: Please can parents remember that we are a nut free School as we have several children in School with serious nut allergies.  If you are providing your child with a packed lunch, please can you ensure that food items do not contain any nut products, for example: Nutella spread or Nutella Bars. 

• Monday 1^st July: Free school meal Foodbank Vouchers need to be returned to School by 1^st July please.
  
  
• Monday 1^st July – Year 6 Cumbrian Award Book Sale: The Year 6 children are having a book sale of their Cumbrian Award poetry book from 2.50 pm on Monday afternoon.  Proceeds are being donated to The Salvation Army and School.  Refreshments will be available - all welcome.
• Tuesday 2^nd July – Reception trip: The Reception class are on a trip next Tuesday.  Please ensure that your child has sun cream applied before coming to School, sun hat and water bottle.  A packed lunch will be provided by School.
  
• Wednesday 3^rd July – Move Up / Transition day: Year 6 children will be visiting their new secondary schools and the new Reception starters will be joining us too.  All other year groups will spend the morning in their new classes. 
  
• Monday 8^th July – Year 6 trip: The Year 6 children are on their leavers’ trip.  Again, they will need to have sun cream applied and can wear their PE kit.  Children will need to bring a packed lunch and water.  If your child is entitled to free school meals, a packed lunch will be provided by School.
  
• Tuesday 9^th July – Year 1 / 2 Open morning: Only one parent per child to attend at 9.10 am please – unfortunately, siblings cannot attend due to lack of space.
  
• Jumpers / Coats: As you will be aware, the weather is very changeable at the moment.  Please can you ensure that your child brings their School jumper / cardigan into School every day as it is very cold in School.  Also, only half of the children brought in their coats today despite the weather forecast being heavy rain and strong winds later today.
