Dear Parent / Carer

 Here are a few notices of dates / information coming up:

• Reception parents’ Maths meeting – Tuesday 1^st October: We are holding a Reception parents’ Maths meeting next Tuesday at 3.20 pm.
  
• Year 1 / Year 2 – Forest School – Thursday 3^rd October: We would like all of the Year 1 / 2 children to go to Forest School next Thursday afternoon (3^rd October) please, so children will need to bring their Forest School clothes in a bag in the morning to get changed into later on in the day.  In order for the session to take place, we will need three parent / adult helpers to accompany us please.  If you are able to help, please can you let the School Office know by next Tuesday afternoon at the latest.
  
• Year 5/6: Volunteer required please for a Tag Rugby Event which is being held on 11^th October in the afternoon for 10 x Year 5/6 children at Egremont RFU.  We are looking for a parent volunteer to accompany the trip please (we will be leaving School at 12.20 pm and returning back at School for 3.00 pm).  If you are able to help, please can you let us know asap.
  
• Year 6 – Swimming - Monday 30^th September: The Year 6’s will be going swimming this Monday afternoon.  We already have a parent volunteer for this visit.
  
• Year 6 – St Benedict’s Open evening is on tonight (Thursday 26^th September) from 5.00 pm and at Whitehaven Academy on 2^nd October from 5.00 pm.
  
• Whole School: We have received an allergy update which has just been published by the Food Standards Agency about a number of products containing mustard powder which have been recalled because of undeclared peanuts.  The mustard ingredients can be found in foods such as dips, sauces, salads and pre-packed sandwiches.  The link to the FSA allergy advice can be found here  or if your device does not support this link, then please see the School Website>Parents>Letters/Letters Autumn 2024. 

• Whole School: Following on from our new homework launch, please see the School Website> Our Classes> Home/School Learning for videos on how to use and access EdShed and Letter Join at home. This week, we have sent out updated Letter Join logins for all pupils to use. Please check your child’s bag for this.

• Whole School – younger school aged siblings: As previously mentioned, we are holding a Teddy Bears’ Picnic Open Afternoon on Tuesday 8^th October from 3.30 pm until 5.00 pm for new September 2025 starters.  If you would like to attend with your child, please can you let the School Office know.
