Important information about upcoming dates and events

7 November 2024 (by admin)

Dear Parent /Carer

Here is some important information relating to dates / events coming up:

  • URGENT: Nasal flu vaccinations in School on 12/11/24 for the whole School: Just a reminder for parents that digital consent for children to have their nasal flu vaccination being done next Tuesday, must be done by 12.00 noon tomorrow please, as the link will be closing after that time.  If you do not want your child to receive the flu vaccination, please complete the online form and select the ‘no consent’ option.   If you haven’t already accessed the digital consent form – and according to the School Nurse Team, only 50% of parents have currently given consent so far, here’s the link to the form:  Flu Vaccination Consent Form   (NB:  If you have already done it – please do not re-do it as it will cause an error on the form).  If you cannot access the link due to technical reasons, or you miss tomorrow’s deadline, the School Nurse Team will take verbal consent over the phone if you contact them on 01900 705867.

  • Remembrance Service – Sunday 10/11/24: This is a reminder that Arlecdon & Frizington Parish Council are holding their annual Remembrance Service in School this Sunday in School starting at 1.00 pm (not 1.30 pm as we had previously been informed) for the whole community – all welcome.

  • After School Clubs starting next week: All children have places in their chosen clubs.  There are still some places available in all of the clubs.  If you wish to book your child on to one of the available places, please contact the School Office as the booking form is now closed.

  • CHANGE OF DATE: Times Table Rock Stars – Dress up day – NOW BEING HELD ON 18/11/24:  As previously mentioned in the October newsletter, the School Council had planned to hold a ‘Rock Star Day’ which was originally scheduled for this Monday but as a sign of respect, we have decided to change it to Monday 18/11/24 as the 11th November is Armistice Day.   Children can come into School on the 18th November dressed as Rock Stars as part of our maths week.  We are asking for a contribution of £1 per child to improve our outdoor area please.

  • PE Kits: Please can parents remember to send in their child’s PE kit at the start of each week – the kit should be left in School all week please.

  • KS2 Theatre trip: Just a reminder that if you haven’t paid your child’s deposit of £10 via the School Hub, this needs to be done by no later than 14th November  We will update you with details of the final balance early next week.

  • Attendance – National Framework: Your child will be bringing home a letter this week from the Local Authority regarding the new attendance guidelines with information relating to the Fixed Penalty Notices (a copy of the letter can also be found on our School website: parent-information/letters-1/letters-autumn-2024-25).  If you have any queries about attendance, please do not hesitate to contact School.

  • Reception Forest School dates: The Reception children will be going to Forest School on the following dates from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon: 14th November, 28th November and 19th December.  We are looking for at least two adult volunteers to accompany the children please.  If anyone is able to help, please can you complete the Microsoft Office form (previously sent out to Reception parents –the link is  here ) or contact the School Office as soon as possible.  Children will need to come to School dressed in their Forest School clothing (wellies, waterproof jacket, waterproof trousers, hat, gloves etc) and bring their School uniform and shoes in their forest school bag – which will be provided by School prior to the first visit.

  • Year 3 / 4 Open Afternoon on 13/11/24 at 2.45 pm: Only one adult per child to attend please and no siblings.  Can we also ask for all Year 3 / 4 children to bring an empty, dry(!) 500 ml plastic bottle into School before our open afternoon next Wednesday please.

Kind regards

Mrs Rose
