Further Covid-19 Update17 March 2020 (by admin) |
Dear Parent/Carers,
Many of you will have seen the significant developments in government guidance regarding Coronavirus yesterday and appreciate how quickly information is changing as the situation develops. The following changes are effective from today, Tuesday 17th March:
If you have kept your child at home because they have a persistent cough or temperature, they must now self-isolate for 14 days (not 7 days as previously advised). This self-isolation must now include every person in your household. Please ensure that siblings of children with a cough or temperature also stay at home. They should remain in the house at all times and avoid contact with people outside of the immediate family. There is guidance on the Gov.uk website here. On our School website on the class pages, we have recommended websites for children to access at home. As the situation changes, we will update this further. Children have their passwords for Mathletics and Time Tables Rock Stars. Positive reading habits, should also be maintained at home.
We have been implementing a number of measures in place to try to reduce the risk of infection- however, it is only a matter of time before the new guidance impacts upon the attendance of staff. We have staff who could be considered vulnerable or have family members who are vulnerable in terms of their health and they may be advised to work from home within the next few days, which may affect our staffing levels. As a community with three Schools, we are working together to support each other as much as we can. We will continue to adhere to all guidance issued and will always put the health and well-being of children and staff first. Please make sure that you are able to access our Jotter messages due to wealth and speed of information which is been directed to Schools.
We appreciate that self-isolation may be difficult for some of our families and if we can help in any way, please let us know. It is reassuring to see how many people are offering their services to the community and I will share these through our Facebook Page. Please remember that if your child is entitled to free school meals there is support over the Easter holidays from the Foodbank and this could be extended dependent on circumstances. For any of you who feel that you may need support or would like to discuss any worries etc.., please contact the school and we will try our very best to help in this difficult time – our community is extremely important to us.
To any of you who are unwell, I wish you a speedy recovery.
Sarah Rose
